Blue Painted Cabinetry
A painted blue kitchen with a marble topped island, glazed upper display cabinets and an open plate rack.

Project type
Two tone kitchen
Soft blue shaker wall and base units paired with a natural oak island, open oak shelving and geometric black pendants.
Two tone kitchens work when the two finishes have a clear hierarchy. Here the soft blue perimeter recedes and the natural oak island steps forward, which makes a large open plan room feel anchored rather than scattered.
Oak is having a long moment for good reason. It brings warmth that paint alone cannot, and it ages well in a room that gets daily use. Pairing it with a muted blue rather than a strong one stops the combination tipping into nautical.
The black geometric pendants and matching hardware give the scheme its edges. Small metal choices like these do a disproportionate amount of work, and they are the cheapest thing in the room to change your mind about.
This is a Waypoint Living Spaces kitchen, one of the four semi-custom lines we carry, with the island built to a different finish from the perimeter.
Other looks worth considering, all buildable from the cabinet lines and stone we carry.
