1. Handleless and low profile fronts
Integrated grip rails and push to open hardware keep sight lines clean and stop a long run from looking busy. The catch is that flat fronts show every inconsistency, so this look depends entirely on the quality of the installation.
2. Warm metals over chrome
Brass, bronze and champagne finishes continue to displace polished chrome. Mixing two metals in one room is fine and usually looks more considered than matching everything, provided one of them is clearly dominant.
3. Quieter stone
The appetite for dramatic full slab veining has softened toward subtler movement that does not compete with the cabinetry. Quartz has followed the same path, with more restrained patterns arriving each season.
4. Colour on the island only
Committing to colour on a single element rather than the whole kitchen is the lower risk version of a two tone scheme, and it is easier to live with when tastes shift.
5. Storage that earns its place
Deep drawers instead of base cupboards, pull out pantry units and appliance garages keep the countertop clear. This is the trend most likely to still feel like a good decision in a decade.
